Before they were superstars, rap gods including Eminem and Big Daddy Kane got their start on the battle-rap circuit.
Now a fresh batch of MCs hopes to follow in their famous footsteps. As part of Honda’s “16 Bars” series, up-and-comers including Lotta Zay, Danny Myers, and Swave Sevah flexed their skills as they faced off in front of a live audience.
Battle-rap ambassador Poison Pen co-hosted the event, which capped off with an exhilarating performance from Black Thought. The Roots wordsmith ripped through his guest verses including Statik Selektah’s “The Imperial” and Truck North’s “Band of Au,” leaving the audience in awe.

Lil’ Kim Joins Fabolous at New York Show

Motherhood hasn’t slowed down Lil’ Kim. In the four months since giving birth to her daughter Royal Reign, the Queen Bee has released a mixtape, performed at Barclays Center, and even come at Nicki Minaj.
On Saturday night, Kimmy Blanco joined Fabolous during his “Soul Tape 3″ concert at B.B. King’s in New York. The Brooklyn rapper treated the hometown crowd to hits including “It’s All About the Benjamins” and “Big Momma Thang.”
Fab performed his 2013 mixtape in its entirety and also brought out fellow Brooklynites Bobby Shmurda and Red Café.

“Lay back, slow it down / Better represent when we come to your town,” she raps.
Fergie is in the lab with Mike WiLL-Made It working on her second solo album, which is expected to be released in 2015.

Rihanna May Appear in The Next ‘James Bond’ Film

If the rumors are actually true then Rihanna is set to appear in the new James Bond movie, Bond 24.

The 26-year-old “We Found Love” hitmaker has been approached by the film’s producers and is really excited to appear on the big screen.

“Rihanna is a big fan of the Bond films and has always loved the idea of appearing in one. She didn’t even need to think about it, she knows she wants to do it. She’s really excited,” a source said.

is expected to start later this year with director Sam Mendes at the helm. The film is due for release in November 2015.

Christina Milian Sings The National Anthem At The Dodgers Game

In case you may have forgotten, Christina Milian is definitely a singer with an incredible voice.
That fact may be getting a little lost lately since her personal life and new relationship with Lil Wayne is getting more coverage than her music. But Tina Turn Up reminded us of her vocal ability this weekend as she performed the national anthem at the Dodgers game on Saturday night.
The Grammy-nominated singer nailed her performance of the Star-Spangled Banner, and did so in a custom MILIAN 17 Dodgers jersey and matching skinny blue jeans. She did so well with her rendition that she received a great reception from the 50,000 fans who filled Dodger Stadium to watch the home team beat the Rockies.

Pharrell Producing Snoop’s ENTIRE Next Album?!

Snoop & Pharrell have been teasing Snoops next big project for some time now. The two recently released a video working on what sounded like a Pharrell produced track. “It’s a great record me and Pharrell did from top to bottom. It feels good and I’m happy to be back in the studio working with one of my favorite producers and homeboys,” Snoop recently told MTV News. “It’s different — it’s completely different than anything we’ve ever done.
