Teyana Taylor Covers Rolling Out Magazine

Teyana Taylor gets playfully seductive for the latest issue of Rolling Out Magazine. The singer, whose long awaited debut album VII drops next Tuesday, shot a couple of dope pics for the mag’s feature where she dishes on her new album, being mentored by future legends Pharrell and Kanye, and dealing with the haters.  She also dishes on her relationship with Knicks baller Iman Shumpert, who she calls her “peace of mind.”

On naming the album, VII:
“Seven is the number of completion. Seven actually has different meanings, but for me, I feel like I’ve been in the business for seven years and [there have] been a lot of bumpy roads and detours and all types of stuff going on within those seven years. But now in the seventh year, everything is finally completed and is coming together. It’s done and I can give you a full body of work. So that number means a lot to me and this year is very important to me.”
On what she learned from having Pharrell and Kanye as mentors:
Pharrell and Kanye are perfectionists and that’s all they surround themselves with and that’s all they know,” she shares. “When you’re around that, it automatically rubs off on you. So everything I do has to be perfect, it can’t be half-a–ed. You either gotta do it or not do it at all. So, definitely perfection is the most important thing.”
On dealing with haters and negativity:
I don’t block that s— out; it hurts,” Taylor says. “But then you also have the brighter side of things. It’s a give and take. If you can take compliments, then you should be able to take when people have negative things to say. It’s very hurtful, but I don’t block it out. It hurts, then I speak about it, and then it’s over. You’ll read one negative comment out of 99 good comments, but it will be that one negative comment that will really have you pissed off. But once you relax a little bit and calm down and think about the good, then it makes you feel better and you go about your day.”
On her relationship with Iman Shumpert:
“I’m happy,” she admits about her relationship with Shumpert. “I’m not on the phone too much and I’m not really on social media now. When you have a peace of mind, which is your companion, you listen to your man so when he’s telling you to calm down, then eventually you let it go. But when you’re in your own space and you feel independent with your feelings, then it’s just like, ‘OK, I’m going to do what I want to do.’ But when you have your peace of mind, it takes your mind off all the negativity and all the people that [are] trying to bother you.”

Jazzphaa aliwataka baadhi ya wasanii wa nje na ndani na nchi zao katika mabano ni Panda (Japan), Maria Kate (Ufaransa), IFE Pianki (Uganda), Masayo (Japan), Fantuzz (Marekani), Shiwe Musique (Comoro), Dwembede (Kenya) na Mbiye Ebrima (Guinea).

Kwa upande wa viingilio, alisema kitakuwa ni sh 5,000 kwa kila Mtanzania huku kwa atakayekata tiketi ya siku tatu, kwa pamoja, ni sh. 12,000.

“Tamasha hili litakuwa likifanyika usiku na mchana. Wasanii wote watakaokuwepo katika tamasha hili watalazimika kupiga muziki kwa kutumia ala za asili za muziki ‘Live’ na siyo ‘Playback’” alisisitiza Jazzphaa.

Kwa upande wake, Meneja wa tamasha hilo, Richard Lupia alisema tamasha hilo mbali ya burudani, wasanii pia watapata nafasi ya kujifunza jinsi ya kuunadi muziki wao duniani kwa njia mbali mbali ambako kutakuwa na warsha kutoka kwa wataalamu toka pembe zote za dunia.

Pia alisema katika tamasha hilo kutakuwa na sanaa za Michoro, mavazi na kuchonga zitakuwa zikioneshwa eneo la tamasha.

“Semina na mijadala ya jinsi ya kuupeleka muziki wa Tanzania katika hatua nyingine za kimaendeleo zitatolewa kwa wasanii mbalimbali. Mbinu za kuuza kazi zao kwenye masoko ya kimataifa na kutafuta soko duniano kote hii itakuwa fursa kwa wasanii na wadau wa sanaa hapa hapa nchini” alisema Lupia.

 Makundi na majina ya wasanii kutoka nyumbani ni pamoja na Afrikabisa Band, Wahapahapa, Segere Original, Jahazi, The Spirit Band na Mama Africa.

Wengine ni Cocodo Band, Hokororo Band, Swanu Gogo Vibes, Swahili Vibes, Fimbo Band, Abeneko Music, Man Kifimbo, Saganda na Msafiri Zawose.

Wasanii wengine ni Msafiri Zawose ‘Chibite Zawose’, Tongwa Ensemble, Leo Manyika, Swahili Blues, Profesa Jay, Shilole, Juma Nature, Barnaba, Vitalis Maembe na Jhikoman.

Aidha, Jazzphaa aliongeza kuwa lengo la tamasha hilo ni kukuza na kurasimisha tasnia ya muziki kwa umakini zaidi na kukuza uchumi wa eneo la Bagamoyo ambalo ni la kihistoria.

Beyonce’s Life Story To Be Explored In New Biography

‘Bridges‘ beauty Beyonce is to have the story of her life told by biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli, best known for autobiographies penned for Princess Diana, Michael Jackson and Marilyn Monroe.

Yet to be titled, the book will explore “all facets of Knowles’ life”, detailing her affluent childhood in the suburbs of Houston, Texas to her meteoric rise to heights reached by Taraborrelli’s other celebrity interests, Madonna and and Diana Ross being two of them.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals:

“Beyoncé has lived a most incredible, inspiring life. I know my readers will enjoy her journey,” Taraborrelli said in a statement.
Knowles is not participating in the unauthorized book. Taraborrelli is relying on interviews with people “who have been pivotal to her personal and professional development.” His previous books include biographies of Michael Jackson, Madonna and the Hilton family.

With a week to go until her first album VII hits stores, Teyana Taylor unlocks her steamy duet with Chris Brown, “Do Not Disturb.” The R&B crooners take it nice and slow while trading tantalizing verses on the bedroom burner, for which she previously premiered a video.
“It’s one of those slow animated songs,” G.O.O.D. Music’s First Lady told Rap-Up TV of the sex-drenched collaboration.
Teyana also heats up the screen in the video snippet for “Request,” the latest release in her #TeyanaTuesdays series. A blonde Teyana fogs up the phone booth while making a call to her lover.

New Music: Nicki Minaj f/ Drake, Lil Wayne, & Chris Brown – ‘Only’

She broke chart and VEVO records with “Anaconda,” and now Nicki Minaj keeps winning with “Only,” the third single off The PinkPrint. The First Lady of Young Money assembles an all-star team of Drake, Lil Wayne, and Chris Brown for the track, produced by Dr. Luke, Cirkut, and J Mike.
Her Minajesty takes charge on her opening verse, telling people to stop worrying if her butt is fake, while Drake admits his obsession for “BBW” girls and his labelmate.
“I never fu**ed Nicki ’cause she got a man, but when that’s over, then I’m first in line,” he quips over the tinkering beat.

Tyga recently told Vibe that he doesn't like his label mates Nicki Minaj or Drake. The trouble stems from his frustration with his new album, The Gold Album: The 18th Dynasty, not being released yet. T-Raww has even threatened to leak the entire project.

With major trouble brewing between artists under his umbrella, Cash Money Records CEO, Birdman decided to speak on the situation during an interview with Funkmaster Flex.
"I didn't see that coming," Birdman told Flex. "And I still haven't gotten to the bottom of none of that. I don't really know what's happening with all that."

Baby admitted he hasn't spoken with Tyga lately, but has an open line of communication with Drizzy. While he respects the "Rack City" city hit maker's accomplishments he doesn't believe he's in Drake's league.
"Tyga knows where he stands in this game compared to Drake. That ain't no secret, I ain't gon' lie. I'ma keep it 1000" Baby explained. "[Tyga] might be in his feelings and I got all the love and respect for Tyga. I'm family oriented. Either you're in or you're out. If you're you're an outcast to me. If you're in we family. You with us or you ain't."
Birdman added that as of right now Tyga is still on the label.

The former Basketball Wives Miami cast member shopping in LA at Last Kings, with a handsome man on her arm. We did some digging and learned the man in question is her new boyfriend,Reggie.

The couple recently sat down with our girl Jasmine over at The Jasmine Brand, to chat about the ups and downs of maintaining a regular relationship in the celebrity world and how she’s balancing being with a man whose mother is almost the same age as she is.

Tami on going public with this relationship
This is my boo, baby boo Reggie. I’m very private about my relationships and I feel that to have a good relationship, there has to be no sign of it on Instagram.

Even when I was on Basketball Wives, I was in a five-year relationship. We kept it like, “You do your thing, I’ll be doing my thing.” That’s always worked. I’m taking a chance right now. Finally I’m like, let me be open and honest about what I’m doingin my life. I’ve always been a open book and so I’m opening this part.

Reggie On dating a celebrity
I’m not a celebrity. I’m just a regular old dude from Houston. That’s it.[...]I own a trucking company in Houston. I own trucks, I buy trucks and hire drivers.
I’m a secure person, I got my own stuff going on, she got her own stuff going on. We just meet in the middle.
Tami On why she’s being more open about their relationship now
Although, we deal with the huge age difference in our relationship, seventeen years, I think I’m at a point now where I have to expose that part of myself. I’m constantly trying to figure out ways that Tami can use her ways in whatever. For me, the age difference was an issue, and then it wasn’t an issue. I know a lot of women out there who are going through that thing–older women, younger men. Now I am just trying to expose that part. If there are any parts from us exposing our relationship and deal with each other that can help them or make them feel more comfortable [I'm all for it.]
Tami On the biggest challenge about the relationship
When I go to the movies, I want to see “The Butler.” He wants to see “The Ninja Turtles.
On Why They Love Each Other Reggie: For me personally, she’s just a real person. She’s a genuine person–it’s hard to meet a genuine female. She’s a real person–that’s what I love about her.
Tami Roman: He’s an admitted womanizer in the past because he just felt like all women wasn’t worth anything or out to get something. He was coming from that place and I was coming from the place that I can’t trust men based on my previous relationships. We’re both wounded but help each other by being together.
Tami’s fear when it comes to the relationship
I am so scared that I am going to be labeled the cougar of the century.
On what they argue about
Reggie & Tami Roman: Everything.
Reggie: She likes to argue and I don’t. I’ll just ignore her shrug it off and that makes her more mad.
Tami Roman: The silliest argument is probably–if he looks in that direction a little too long and something’s over there and I feel like you shouldn’t been looking for three minutes. One minute tops.
Reggie: That’s my everyday life.
On what makes Tami insecure in the relationship
He is more age appropriate with [the club] demographic than with me–that’s what makes me insecure. I can’t be out at the club, I can’t be twerking. My knees are bad and I can’t get down low twerking all night. I don’t have much ass to be doing that anyway. I have real bills and expenses and mortgage and car. They have really no responsibility . That’s kind of where he’s at in terms of age.
