Phiona Bizzu, 19 years was announced by CEO Brenda Nanyonjo at around 1:00am on Saturday.
Josephine Nabakooza was the first Runner up and Agatha Tumuhimbise was the second runner up.
Miss Congeniality was Monica Namukwaya, Beach Beauty  was Nina Mirembe, Miss Photogenic was Sophie Amayo, Miss Talent was Peruth Apolot, Miss Popularity is Effe Nalumansi and she will be face of SMS One 2012 and also won Shs1m cash and Maureen Atulinde was named the Sports Queen.
we had put our money on three galz and two of them, Josephine Nabakooza and Tuhimbise Agatha were 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively and our third Maureen Atulinda who was beaten by Phiona Bizzu did not come out empty handed, she got the 'Miss Sports Queen 2012.'
The judges who included 'Mrs Uganda' Crystal Newman Kavulu, Judith Owembabazi and Cedric Babu among others ended up with Phiona Bizzu as the Miss Uganda 2012 and with the title, she gets a car, a land title and not only that but she will also be representing Uganda in the forthcoming Miss World.
This year's event was a lot better than the previous one. By 8:30pm the guests were taking their seats all smartly dressed as photographers were busy with their lenses. Jackie Chandiru and Iryn Namubiru were among the artistes who entertained the guests though Jackie was called more than twice when she was no where to be seen forcing others to conclude that she was battling with family issues.
The function went down well of course with a few problems here and there like the gals walking instead of catwalking. All in all, this year was a lot better than last year, we can only hope it gets better than this next time.
