Nicki Minaj Speaks Out on Iggy Azalea, Women in Hip-Hop.

Although it’s been three days since the BET Awards, the Internet is still buzzing about Nicki Minaj’s speech and whether or not she threw a subliminal diss at rapper Iggy Azalea. While accepting the award for “Best Female Hip Hop Artist,”  Nicki mentioned, “When you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it,” followed by  “No, no, no, no shade,” which resulted in speculation that she was really throwing shade at fellow nominee Iggy.
According to Nicki, that’s not the case.
She took to Twitter to clear things up, saying she only wanted to encourage women to “write down [their] own thoughts and perspective[s].” She also mentioned being a fan of Lauryn Hill and Missy Elliott, and reminded folks that she’s already “congratulated Iggy on the success of Fancy, publicly.”

The media puts words in my mouth all the time and this is no different. I will always take a stance on women writing b/c I believe in us! I believe we’re smart enough to write down our own thoughts and perspective, just like the men do. I’ve been saying this for 5 YEARS. I fell in love with Lauryn Hill b/c I knew she was the author behind
those amazingly profound and articulated songs on the MisEducation. I wondered how Lauryn tapped into my brain and wrote an album on love, betrayal, passion, pain, triumph, brokenness…. Did she read minds? It’s the same reason I have a different level of respect for Missy. I know she’s a writer and a producer. Women MUST aspire for more. I’ve congratulated Iggy on the success of Fancy, publicly. She should be very proud of that. All the women nominated should b proud. That will never change my desire to motivate women to write. Our voices have to be heard. I hope I inspire up & coming females to do that.

This bit would have been perfect as her acceptance speech and cleared up all speculation before it ever began.
I’m a fan of both Nicki Minaj and Iggy but I did feel as though Iggy and the rest of the nominees in the “Best Female Hip Hop Artist” category should have been given the respect of the presenter opening the envelope and reading the winner’s name. If you remember, Floyd Mayweather said he didn’t need to open the envelope because he had X-ray vision and knew that it would be Nicki that took home the trophy (although Iggy was the only rapper in the category that dominated the charts this year).
Interestingly enough, Iggy Azalea has never really addressed if she writes her own lyrics or not.  That’s still a mystery.

DJ Felli Fel Goes Back to the Future with CeeLo, Juicy J in ‘Have Some Fun’ Video.

Felli Fel is going back to the future. The Power 106 DJ partied with some of his famous friends while shooting the wet and wild video for his summer anthem “Have Some Fun” earlier this week in L.A.
In the clip, directed by Kai Henry and Ash Innovator, Felli gets whisked away by Dr. Emmett Brown in his DeLorean to help save a pool party in the future from boredom. Once he arrives, he texts CeeLo Green and Juicy J to help him turn things up. He’s surprised to see that his crew has aged, but that won’t stop them from having fun.
In addition to his co-stars, there were plenty of bikini-clad babes on set and even a Christopher Lloyd look-alike.

Amber Rose Lands New Role on ABC Sitcom ‘Selfie’ .

Her aspiring music career may have taken a backseat because of motherhood, but Amber Rose is getting back into the game and has snagged a role on a new ABC sitcom titled “Selfie.” The pilot is based on My Fair Lady about a woman who is obsessed with the Internet and becomes social media famous after an embarrassing breakup video goes viral. We can see Amber show off her acting chops as she plays the recurring role of “Fit Brit” when the series makes its debut in ABC’s fall lineup.
Hyped about her role and confirming the news, Amber said, “I’m so excited. I start shooting
in August.”
The role won’t be too much of a stretch for Mrs. Wiz Khalifa who has the selfie game on lock!

Mya Reacts To Reports That She’s Jay Z’s Longtime Mistress.

Mya is not a side chick.  At least not Jay Z’s, she says.
Earlier this week, the popular site Crazy Days Crazy Nights blew the whistle after they posted a blind item reveal that claimed Mya has been Jay Z’s sidepiece and mistress for a long time.  It read:

When people talk about Jay-Z and his mistresses, they often forget about a mainstay who has been there forever. She is the person he calls when he needs to be discreet and thinking about old times. She is that very short named R&B singer who hasn’t had a hit in awhile and doesn’t really even act or record any longer. She basically lives off the generosity of Jay-Z and a couple of other guys. She peaked at A-.

We haven’t really seen Mya and Jay Z spotted in the same room, nor mentioned in the same
sentence since they released their 2000 hit ‘Best Of Me,’ so the allegations were a little shocking and left-field. Beyonce threw fuel on the ‘mistress’ fire over the weekend when she sang ‘Resentment’ in concert, and she changed her lyrics to:

I know she was attractive but I was here first
Been ridin’ with you for twelve years why did I deserve
To be treated this way by you

The original version says, ‘been ridin’ with you for six years.’
Beyonce delivered one of her best vocal performances that night as she stood in her wedding dress and belted out other lyrics of the song that included:

You should have told me you weren’t happy
I know you didn’t want to hurt me
but look what you’ve done to me now
I gotta look in her eyes
and see she’s had half of me
She ain’t even half of me
that b-tch will never be

After it was reported that Mya was the alleged mistress on entertainment sites like Daily Mail and even Access Hollywood, Mya took to Instagram to clear her name.  After a fan asked if it was true, she has been involved in an 11-year affair with Jay Z, she responded:

Never did, never was, never will. Illegitimate thirsty sources with no facts and that’s the “media” for you- especially today. I play second to no one, pay my own bills, have my own label, own management company, rely on God only and respect myself & marriage way too much for nonsense. False rumors are crafted for ratings & numbers. And miserable, unhappy people need someone to judge to deter the attention away from their own misery and feel better about their miserable lives. If they did it to Jesus, they’ll do it to anyone. God Bless.

Does anyone remember Blu Cantrell? She had one hit ‘Hit Em Up Style,’ and was linked to Jay years ago. She even emerged in 2012 to tweet a congratulatory message to Jay and Bey after their baby ‘Blue’ was born:

And maybe this is all not true at all and just a part of the storyline to add even more controversy to Jay and Bey’s current tour, ‘On The Run.’

Iggy Azalea is killing it on the charts and she’s killing it on her latest magazine cover, too! The blonde rapper received some hometown love from Cosmopolitan Australia as the cover girl for their upcoming August 2014 issue. One word–”Fancy!”
Meanwhile, social media is still buzzing about Nicki Minaj’s alleged shade towards Iggy at the BET Awards (which wasn’t exactly shade according to Nicki Minaj), but Iggy says she’s “unbothered” by it all.
Taking to Instagram today, she finally broke her silence on how she felt about not winning the “Best Female Hip Hop Artist” award, while also addressing the unnecessary hate she has been receiving:

I have to say the general explosion of pettiness online in the last few days is hard to ignore and honestly…lame.
If I had won the BET award that would’ve
been great but it wasn’t my year and I don’t mind – so you shouldn’t either.
Generally speaking I’m unbothered by anything that “happened” at the BET awards and just feel worn out by everyone trying to make me have wars with people all the time.
Anyone who wishes me well is welcome in my life and those who don’t can’t get any more of my time. I hate to see everyone exhausting themselves on my behalf over things that I’m still not 100% sure even exist and don’t matter. just let it go.

Young Money’s youngest signee Reginae Carter stole the spotlight from her father when she accepted the award for Best Group at Sunday’s BET Awards.
Now Lil Wayne introduces his daughter as part of his Weezy Wednesdays series. The 15-year-old singer, who was a former member of the OMG Girlz, shows that she’s her own boss in the video for her first single “Mind Goin’ Crazy.”
Reginae, who is a spokeswoman for Hairfinity, even has her own group of fans, the Reginaetors, and is working on her Young Money debut Becoming Reginae.
“Just expect greatness,” Young Money president Mack Maine told us of the rising star. “She’s Toya [Wright's] daughter and Wayne’s daughter, so that’s a great combination. She’s a megastar.”

Keshia Chanté To DeSean Jackson: ‘Ain’t Nobody Checking For You’.

DeSean Jackson may be on the hunt for an industry chick. And he definitely doesn’t take rejection so well. After being linked to Ashanti earlier this year, and trying to holler at Rihanna outside of a day party,  the Redskins player tried his luck with 106 & Park host Keshia Chanté at the BET Awards this past Sunday.  During his brief interview, he made several advances at Keshia and kept reminding her of how good she looked, however Keshia kept it professional by changing the subject several times.   And Twitter definitely took notice:

DeSean apparently didn’t like folks claiming Keshia “curved him” so he posted a photo of himself standing next to Keshia on Instagram and tagged her in it, while claiming he was on the phone:

On putting movies on hold for television: “I was being offered parts that I felt like I had done before. They weren’t exciting enough for me to leave my family for four months. I realized some of the best writing especially for women, was on television.

Beyonce revamped a few lyrics on her 2006 track “Resentment” last night during the Cincinnati stop of her and Jay’s “On the Run” Tour, leading fans to believe she’s sending a direct shot at her hubby and revealing a little bit of drama in their rumored-to-be-troubled marriage. “Resentment” is about a cheating spouse that the singer is trying to forgive, and though no one assumed she was speaking about her own experiences when it appeared on B’day, they may be thinking differently now. I mean, why else switch up the words to make it more applicable to you?
Instead of singing, “Been riding with you for six years,” Bey sang, “Been riding with you for 12 years.” She also changed “Like I couldn’t do it for you like your mistress could,” to ,”Like I couldn’t do it for you like that wack b*tch could,” and adding “She ain’t even half of me, that b*tch will never be,” after, “I gotta look at her in her eyes and see she’s had half of me.” Yikes! Do you think Bey is trying to say something?! They looked like a happy family just the other day, so hopefully this means nothing at all!

Warner Bros. Pictures releases the first trailer teaser for the sequel to 2011's hilarious comedy Horrible Bosses. 
Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Kevin Spacey, Charlie Day, Jamie Foxx and Jason Sudeikis are back to reprise their roles in part 2.
Additions to the cast this time around include Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz.

Plot: Fed up with answering to higher-ups, Nick (Bateman), Dale (Day) and Kurt (Sudeikis) decide to become their own bosses by launching their own business in "Horrible Bosses 2." But a slick investor soon pulls the rug out from under them. Outplayed and desperate, and with no legal recourse, the three would-be entrepreneurs hatch a misguided plan to kidnap the investor's adult son and ransom him to regain control of their company. 

Eazy E's Son Disappointed At Not Being Cast As His Dad In N.W.A. Biopic "I Am My Father".

Eazy E's son is not happy about being rejected to play the role of his father in the upcoming N.W.A. biopic.
"I am my father. I look like him. I sound like him," Lil Eazy, real name Eric Wright Jr.,

So far the cast includes Jason Mitchell as Eazy E, Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre and O'Shea Jackson Jr.in the role of his father Ice Cube.

The F. Gary Gray-directed film will arrive in theaters August 14, 2015. Lil Eazy said he will support and help promote the project out of respect for his late father.

Robin Thicke Reveals He Hasn’t Seen Paula Patton In Four Months, Says ‘I Was Tired Of Lying’ .

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton had our jaws dropping earlier this year when they announced they were separating after being together for over 20 years. And ever since then, Robin Thicke has been begging for her forgiveness, releasing songs, and he even dedicated an entire album to his wife in an effort to get her back!
That album is now officially in stores and now it’s up to Paula to make her move. But has she heard it yet?
Earlier today, Robin sat down with with Ebro, Rosenberg and the Hot 97 Morning Show, and answered all the questions you may want to know.  During the interview, Robin revealed that he hasn’t seen Paula in four months, and creating the album has been therapy in his quest to reflect on his relationship and become a better man.  He also puts an end to speculation that his success from last year and cheating are what caused the split, and he says although the album was dedicated to her, he doesn’t think that Paula wants to hear any of it. At least not right now.

On what to expect from his new album Paula:
I go back and forth from talking about her and then I’m speaking to you. So sometimes it’s about her, and sometimes I’m talking directly to her. [...] It’s so hard for people who aren’t in our house to know…. the album and us breaking up has nothing to do with the success or what happened last year. It’s just two people that wasn’t
working anymore. And I’ve always been the kinda person who wants to admit his faults so I can improve as a human being. So it’s like being an alcoholic. You gotta first be able to say, ‘I got problems.’ So this album is dedicated to her, but half it is about my problems and me getting certain things together so I can be the kinda man I wanted to be.
Last time he saw Paula:
I try to keep most of that private but I haven’t seen her for four months, man. We cool. She’s the best girl in the world, great mother and still a good friend. But because we just weren’t ever together anymore, I still had so much to apologize for and things I wanted to take responsibility for. But I still wanna wish her well and let her know she’s a great person and she deserves to have a great life, so it’s not all a negative album.
The album is exactly what happens when you lose the love of your life and you trying to figure it out in your head. ‘How am I gonna get through it all.’
On if she’s heard the album:
She hasn’t heard it. She’s only heard a few songs and I don’t think she wants to hear it right now. I think she probably, I can’t speak for her, but I think space is an important part of the healing process.
On messing up their relationship:
I’m a man and I messed up and I had to lie for a while and then I stopped lying. That was actually good for me because I was tired of lying so this whole album is me revealing everything.
I think the only thing different with this album is, it’s never her fault. In real life, relationships aren’t like that, but in this point of our relationship, the only reason we’re not together is because of choices I made.
I knew exactly what I had. It’s not that simple. After 20 years, it didn’t work for 20 years because it wasn’t right. It was right, but sometimes people grow apart. You don’t build love in a day and you don’t lose it in a day.
On cheating:
[Cheating] is not why we’re apart. We’re apart because we just couldn’t be together anymore, for a while. There’s a hundred different reasons. There isn’t just one. There’s a long list. I changed and I got a little too selfish, too greedy, too full of myself.
How he’s dealing with pain:
The alcohol helps. My music is my therapy. When I make these songs and I listen back to them, they make me feel good about myself because at least I’m admitting my faults, I’m trying to become a better man, better person and better father. That’s what I have to do right now.
On still being cool with each other’s families:
All of our families are still very much in love. I invite her mom over for dinner. We have dinners together. We’re a whole family. She’ll [Paula Patton] take the kid to visit my uncle and aunt. It’s just right now, we don’t hang out.

A woman needs her time and space. It looks as though the last time Robin saw Paula, was on his birthday.
