NBA Star Russell Westbrook Proposes To His Longtime Girlfriend

We’re still three months away from the new year, but by all accounts, it looks as though 2014 will be going down as the year of celebrity engagements and weddings.
Stylish Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook proposed to his longtime girlfriend Nina Earl on Monday night. The lovely couple announced the exciting news on Instagram with Russ quoting Lauryn Hill’s “Nothing Even Matters” and Nina quoting Beyoncé’s “XO.”

The sparkler was designed by jeweler to the stars, Jason Arasheben, who also did Gabrielle Union’s engagement ring and Evelyn Lozada’s.
Russell and Nina met at UCLA and were both ball players.
In an interview with ESPN last year, Russell said one of things he loved about her was that she was smart.

…she’s a smart girl. She’s in school right now, trying to get her master’s in psychology. She knows what she wants to do in life, which is great. That’s easy for me to cope with.

Nina received her master’s last summer.
