BET MUSIC AWARDS 2014

Pharrell and Missy Elliott
The year of Pharrell continues. The “Happy” hitmaker kicked off the BET Awards 2014 at Nokia Theatre in L.A. on Sunday.
“This is for Virginia,” he said while taking the stage with his University of Baes to perform “Come Get It Bae.”
He then brought out the “empress of Virginia,” Missy Elliott, to perform her 2003 hit “Pass That Dutch.”
Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne put on a “Krazy” performance at the BET Awards 2014. The Young Money chief performed his new song off Tha Carter V for the first time before segueing into “Believe Me.” While Drake was a no-show, the crowd including Paris Hilton was seen turning up to Tunechi, who dedicated the performance to his daughter Reginae.
Chris Brown
Breezy is back. Chris Brown made a triumphant return to the stage at Sunday’s BET Awards. The R&B superstar performed his hit “Loyal” with some help from Lil Wayne and Tyga. He wowed with his killer moves, while Travis Barker played drums. Everyone from Karrueche to 2 Chainz was seen grooving along before giving him a standing ovation.
Jhené Aiko and John Legend
John Legend brought his smooth and soulful sound to Sunday’s BET Awards. Seated at the piano, the R&B crooner serenaded the audience at Nokia Theatre with his new single “You and I.” He also brought out Jhené Aiko to duet on her Sail Out single “The Worst.” Watch them score another win for R&B.
Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj brought her fantasy (and that ass) to the BET Awards on Sunday. The ruler of the Barbz opened on the back of a bike to spit her bars on “Chi-Raq” before turning the stage into Alice in Wonderland—complete with mushrooms, a rabbit, and the Mad Hatter—while she performed “Pills N Potions.”
