T.I. Sentenced to 11 Months in Prison

Yahoo! Music, Oct 15, 2010 7:00 pm PDT
T.I. was sentenced to 11 months in prison today after a judge revoked the rapper's probation following his arrest on drug charges in Los Angeles last month, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. T.I., who was released from prison just eight months ago, after serving nearly a year behind bars on federal weapons charges, was on three years' probation as part of his initial plea bargain. Two days ago, T.I. helped police in convincing a suicidal man not to jump from a 22-floor Atlanta building, but the rapper's rescue, and the police's gratitude toward T.I. for assisting in the situation (one of the officers reportedly spoke at today's hearing), apparently did not factor into the judge's decision. T.I. was given two weeks to turn himself into authorities.

T.I. and his wife Tamika "Tiny" Cottle were arrested on September 1st after their Maybach was pulled over in Los Angeles. Police smelled pot coming from the vehicle, and a search of the car turned up multiple controlled substances. The rapper was charged with possessing ecstasy, testing positive for opiates and associating with a convicted felon.

Dolce and Gabbana accused of tax evasion: report

ROME (AFP) – Italian prosecutors have accused the fashion house Dolce and Gabbana of failing to declare revenues of around 840 million euros (1.2 billion dollars), Italy's main business daily reported on Saturday.
Investigators have closed their inquiry against founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, as well as five other people, but no formal charges have yet been presented, Il Sole 24 Ore said, citing prosecutors in Milan.
The allegation is that Dolce and Gabbana created a company in Luxembourg in 2004 and 2005 which was given control of the group's brands, thereby avoiding Italian taxes. The Luxembourg company, Gado, was in fact run from Italy.
The unpaid taxes amount to 420 million euros, Il Messaggero daily reported.
Italy has been cracking down on widespread tax evasion in recent months in an effort to raise government revenues following the global economic crisis.
Dolce and Gabbana was set up in 1985 and employs more than 3,000 people, with a network of 116 stores and 17 factory outlets in 2009, the group's website said.

Katy Perry, Akon to share runway with VS models

NEW YORK – Katy Perry, Akon and model Adriana Lima in a $2 million fantasy bra are among the highlights planned for this year's Victoria's Secret fashion show.
Other models expected on the runway include Alessandra Ambrosio, Rosie-Huntington Whiteley, Chanel Iman and Candice Swanepoel. Missing from the lineup is Heidi Klum, who recently parted with the brand.
The lingerie show has become a holiday tradition of sorts, with many of the catwalkers outfitted in elaborate, fanciful wings — and very little else — parading in front of elaborate sets.
The fantasy bra has become a signature, too: This one created by jeweler Damiani features diamonds, sapphires and topaz.
The show will be taped Nov. 10 to be televised in an hour-long special on CBS on Nov. 30.
