Queens bred M.C. Ja Rule,
real name Jeffrey Atkins, is currently serving a two year prison
sentence stemming from a gun possession charge. Rule is using his time
wisely - he found two new mentors behind bars!
In an exclusive interview with the NY Daily News, Ja says disgraced politician Alan Hevesi and corporate greed poster-boy Dennis Kozlowski took him under their wings.
Ja went on to say that he gets stock tips from Kozlowski and praised his newfound homies:
“Outside, you don’t meet guys like this every day. This place is amazing."
Ja is currently being held at a Mid-State Correctional Facility in
upstate Oneida, N.Y. and isn’t scheduled to be released until February
2013. But he’s getting ready for his new album, Pain is Love 2, to drop later this month.
As for Ja’s new friends, he says:
“Koz just got out on work release. Not to say I wish he was still here. But they’re both great, smart guys.”
Hevesi, 72, isn't the first power player Ja Rule has met in prison.
At Hudson Correctional Facility he played cards and basketball with Hank
Morris, the strategist who pocketed $18 million in the pension scandal
that doomed Hevesi.
Good to know that Ja isn't letting a little jail time stop him from
meeting new friends. One of Ja’s final notes about his two new friends:
“It’s funny. We’re from totally different walks of life. But when you’re here, you’re here.”
