Come May 12th, the Goodlyfe crew duo of Moses Radio and Weasel TV
will be launching their latest album Mukama at a yet to be announced
venue. This will be their fourth album launch in five years since 2008
when they held the Nakudata at Steak Out. Their other albums; Nyambura,
Bread and Butter and Talk and Talk were launched in 2009, 2010 and 2011
respectively at Hotel Africana and had massive audiences.
Moses Radio and Weasel TV’s forthcoming Mukama album launch comes at a time when the duo is facing one of its worst music days ever.
Even when they are having a lot of good songs at their disposal( Mukama,
Lwaki Tonjagala Dudu and Pollination among others), they have failed to
reach their self set standards. Unfortunately for them, the audience
still rates them in line to their past glory. This has since given
critics a chance to hate on the Makindye based boys. However, a fair
judgment of Radio and Weasel is that the two are still good though
struggling to reach and later beat their benchmark. However, those that
are underrating and ruling them out are far from reality!
Secondly, they are currently involved in battles with several media people following allegations that Moses Radio and some Goodlyfe crew
members beat up Lwasama; a radio and television music promoter. Because
of this, some journalists under a new umbrella body have in response
placed a ban on reporting about Goodlyfe and playing its music. However,
Goodlyfe has since denied this allegation asserting that at the time
Lwasama was thumped, they had not arrived at Hi-Table bar; the place
where Lwasama was beaten from.
This
should not be a cause of fear to Radio and Weasel but rather a cause of
concern. Details about their forth-coming launch will follow.
