On behalf of the Flaviana Matata Foundation and Tanzania Mitindo, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Russell Simmons for his kind donation of auction items and cash for our annual charity event, Tanzania Red Ribbon Fashion Gala 2011 which took place on World Aids Day, December 11.The items he donated raised 7,700,000 tanzanian shillings and this year the event raised 56,000,000 tanzanian shillings in its entirety.
The fund will be used to establish Tanzania Mitindo House training centre for teenage orphans that will train and empower them economically.
The centre aims to train at least 100 teenage orphans from different orphanages in Dar es salaam each year. The centre will offer courses on life skills, education, fashion designing, tailoring, arts and crafts, hair and make up, computer skills and graphic designing.We believe one can pay back the loan of GOLD but one dies forever in DEBT to those who are KIND to them.
